Sorry for the late recap, it's been a super busy weekend. My wife’s siblings are all in town and it feels like we’re running a Costa Rican refugee camp. Anyways, let’s get into the Top 5 moments from another great episode. Been a strong start to the “Open Era”.

  1. The Full Brady Experience- We're not even five minutes into the episode and Brady has already cut off part of his thumb. He’s bleeding profusely and missing the tip of his thumb, but his only concern seems to be whether or not he's going to get pulled from the game. Doesn’t even seem like he’s in pain. Truly insane reaction. (Also hilarious that he wanted to start doing pushups to prove to the producers that he could stay in the game.) I’m honestly surprised they let him stay out there, I feel like people have been pulled in the past for much less. I’m assuming they gave him the choice of re-attaching the tip of his thumb or staying in the game, which brings up an interesting question. Would you give up the tip of your thumb for a 5% chance at a milly? (I'd put Brady's chances closer to 0%) I need my hands intact to work so I'd be on the first chopper out of there, but I’m happy Brady decided to stay. As a certified Brodie, I’m excited we get to enjoy the Brady experience for (hopefully) a couple more weeks. Even without part of his thumb, he still had the energy to ragdoll Kilby through the reward challenge. Reminiscent of Joel and Chet. (See video below and vote on the poll!

You just cut off the tip of your thumb, do you stay in the game, or choose to leave and get it reattached?

  1. Rob Weightmogging Eric- We got a lot from Rhode Island Rob this episode. (Doesn't quite roll off the tongue as nicely as Boston Rob) He was NOT happy that his team lost the reward challenge, and was especially pissed at the Linnea-Eric pairing. He doesn’t understand why tiny little Linnea chose to drag around "the behemoth" Eric and not the other way around. He says to Eric, “No offense but you’re 215 lbs easy.” When Eric protests and says he’s only 193 lbs, Rob isn’t having it. They’re in the water in the very next scene when he says, “I would honestly put money that you’re over 200 lbs.” Rob’s weird obsession with Eric’s weight and his refusal to let it go was definitely my favorite subplot of the episode. Feeling thankful his master plan fell apart (more on that later), because I need him to weightmog Eric a couple more times before he leaves.
  1. Comedy Night at the Improv- Imagine you’re Eric. The whole tribe thinks you’re super annoying, what’s your next move? Try to lay low around camp? 👎 Work hard to ingratiate yourself to the tribe? 👎 Make everyone sit through an improv set? 👍 Man that was brutal. Don’t think he even got one pity laugh. This guy has the social awareness of Steven Glansburg. Seeing everyone’s faces in the background was amazing. Would be an absolute nightmare to be stranded on a desert island with him, but I’m loving the show. More improv next episode pls 🙏🙏🙏
  1. Carter’s Crab Confusion- Before tribal, Carter is talking about the crabs on the beach with Ori, and he says “They’re onto us, they know what’s coming”. Linnea overheard this conversation and thought they were scheming about the upcoming vote. She then tells Sharonda and Alexis, and they use it as a catalyst to flip the vote from Eric to Ana. Exhibit A on why you never give your name as the decoy vote! You never know when your entire game will be tanked by a crab.
  1. Rhode Island Rob Making Survivor History- My 2nd favorite Rhode Islander has come to the realization that he’s ready to quit the game on Day 4. (possibly because Aric (with an A) won’t admit he’s over 200 lbs) It took me a couple days to figure out exactly what his plan was but I think I have it nailed down. He wanted Eric to play his SITD, and if it failed, RIR (Rhode Island Rob) would play his idol on Eric to invalidate all the Eric votes, leaving his own as the only valid vote. (Eric not having a vote because he played his SITD) He will then vote for himself and make Survivor history by sending himself home. There’s only 3 minor problems with his plan:

#1: Eric needs to play his SITD for this to work (He didn't)

#2: His plan hinges on everyone voting for Eric (They didn't).

#3: He has to vote for himself (You're not allowed to unless your name is Christian and Jimmy Fallon makes you).

Other than that, the plan was flawless. I kinda wish they would’ve let him do it. He would’ve voted for himself, burned his idol, looked like a huge idiot, and Ana still would have been sent home. Survivor Icon!

Alright that does it for this week. Don't forget to send your buy-ins if you want in for this season. Due to the large number of contestants this season we may be starting a week early to make it a little harder but I will keep you posted on that. Keep sending me emails of people who want to join, this is gonna be our best season yet! Until next week.
