Another week, another great episode. We are getting closer and closer to the merge and there’s still a lot of you yet to get your payment in. Linking the google sheet at the bottom of this recap. If your name is not highlighted in green it means I still need your buy-in. Ok let’s get into the recap.
- Rhode Island Rob is a QUITTER- We open the episode fresh off last week’s tribal council, where the producers foiled Rob’s masterplan of voting himself out of the game. Have no fear, Rob is not gonna give up that easily. (ironic) He tells us in a confessional that he’s not a quitter, but that if you get pulled out of the game for medical reasons it’s “something completely different”. It’s at this point where we begin to hear about a gruesome cut Rob got on his foot, and a nasty limp that seemingly came on out of nowhere. Jeff and the doc come to camp to check on Rob, and it reminded me of when I used to fake being sick to my Mom so I could stay home from school. The doc (obviously) finds absolutely nothing wrong with Rob, besides a minor cut on his foot. (In a place completely different from where he said he was hurting) Rob asks if it’s infected (Doc says no), and then asks if it’s possible to become infected. (literally anything could “possibly become infected”) He ends up pulling himself from the game, truly shameless stuff. Despite his best efforts, everyone is gonna remember him as a quitter. People spend their lives trying to get on this show, only for him to orchestrate several complex plans to leave the game without “quitting”. If he put as much energy into the game as he did into finding ways to quit, he could’ve won. I’m sure as soon as he got pulled from the game that limp disappeared just like Keyzer Soze. Wish Jeff would’ve went full Colton on him. At least Entertainment Weekly fried him. (See below)
- The Files are In the Computer- After RIR QUIT, Devin and Carter got to go on a journey, where they had the opportunity to mutiny and join the opposing tribe. Devin takes one look at the condition of the Savu camp (extremely soggy) and decides he is getting on the first boat back home. When Carter gets to Toka, he leaves his bag unattended and Toka goes through it and finds out there may be an advantage hidden in their oars. Brady immediately grabs the axe (really bro? Did you not learn your lesson last week?) and starts smashing the oars to pieces. Funny that he thought the advantage was literally inside the oar rather than underneath the one random piece of rope wrapped around it. Eerily reminiscent of the Zoolander “the files are in the computer” scene. Was also super funny when Brady pretended like he couldn’t hear Maggie (who was literally right next to him) when she was asking him to give her the advantage. I was wondering how long he could keep that going. Carter ends up mutinying to Toka by default, as his boat leaves while he is trying to find the advantage. (in the now destroyed oars)

- Pre Tribal Scramble- After blowing a huge lead on the puzzle in the challenge, Toka is heading to tribal. The Strong 5 alliance wants to take out Kilby, but Kilby isn’t worried, because he somehow believes he is Brady’s number 1. A hilariously bad read, as it seems to anyone paying attention that Brady literally hates him. (Maggie’s face when he told her that was priceless) If he truly believes that and is that bad at reading people, I’m worried about his future in this game. In the scramble, Thien An pitched to a Patt vote to Brady, which gave us a great Brady confessional. He says “No disrespect Thien An, but you have absolutely zero pull in this tribe to make any call in this game.” (whenever you hear a sentence begin with “no disrespect”, you know what follows is going to be extremely disrespectful). As we all saw, Patt got sent home, and Thien An got exactly what she wanted. Maybe she has some pull after all.
- Scenes from Next Week- Based on Eric and Kilby wearing pink buffs, it looks like a tribe swap is coming next episode. (A Kilby-Eric alliance is gonna feed families) Kinda bummed that it seems we are going away from 2 tribes, it has been an awesome throwback start to the season so far.
Don’t forget to get your buy-ins to me. See you next week!
